GET TO KNOW FLORAL FOX FARM!
When we bought this place in 2016, we jokingly referred to it as the “ugly, rusty, little barnacle,” because there was rust on the under skirting, most of the vinyl was cracked or had holes in it, there were several soft spots in the floors, no sidewalk leading up to the house, no shrubs, and an abundance of weeds- but it had potential!

How it all began...
We gutted the home down to the studs and renovated it during 2016. In 2018, I began renovating the outside. There were only 3 trees in the front yard, 2 trees in the side yard, and no fencing or landscaping. The ground was hard-packed clay and rock in many areas. Every place we had lived, I maxed out the growing space within a few years. I had always dreamt of having enough space to grow things on a larger scale and had a deep desire to make this a place of beauty.

As I spent a lot of time cultivating our
little patch of earth, I noticed a little
fox would run along the tree line in
the morning near the future mum
field and cross the street into the tree
line on the opposite side of the road.
In the afternoon, she would return
again running along our tree line
down into the woods behind us. I
noticed the little fox several times per
week. Here is a photo of the future
mum, lavender, and luffa field.

As new life was blooming and growing here, I decided to expand and try things I had only imagined. In May of 2019, I laid the black cloth and planted my first mums.
-
It was a steep learning curve. We discovered halfway through the growing season that we had the pressure regulator installed in the opposite direction! Thankfully, the mums survived in spite of us.
The little fox was always observing my progress.
-
What began as an experiment with 900 mums in 2019, grew to over 2700 within a few years. I reinvested the profits back into this flower venture and expanded.

In 2020, I began growing luffa sponges and added peonies and increased the number of mums I grew. Lavender was added in 2022, more peonies in 2023. In 2024, I got my nursery license and was able to offer lavender plants for sale for the first time. I planted more lavender in our lavender field, added Heritage mums, dahlias, and daffodils all in 2024, and will add fresh cut flowers in 2025. As I sit here now, I am just as surprised as you are!

Something beautiful happened along the way. As this place began bringing forth life, I began connecting with the community. Many of my customers have become my friends.
My goal is to invite my community to come visit, learn how to grow, and leave feeling refreshed by experiencing the peace and beauty we enjoy out here, and then taking back a little part of that with them to brighten their day.
And that is how Floral Fox Farm was born!
I still occasionally see the little fox scampering along the tree line, and now, I imagine she scampers through my field when I’m not looking, picks a bouquet, and tucks it into her tail as she heads to her den at the end of the day.
